Napa River Striper Setup

The KastKing Centron 4000 and 4000 Lite spinning reels are perfect for tossing lures on KastKing 12lb mono or 15lb braid.
It is an extremely affordable reel that has a decent drag system and sufficient line capacity to handle most Stripers you’ll encounter in the Napa River.
I provide these reels for many of my customers to use on my charters because they are a cost effective solution for people who are still learning to cast and fight fish and are tough on gear.
I keep a number of them spooled with new line and ready as backups. Having said that even though they are the budget model, experienced anglers find them quite suitable for the task at hand and some very decent fish have been caught on them over the years.

For 5” & 6” swimbaits I typically use larger reels, braided fishing line and heavier rods.
As a footnote my personal, light tackle spinning reel for throwing 4” swimbaits is the KastKing Kapstan Elite 4000. I’ve posted numerous videos in the past featuring this particular favorite of mine. But if you are looking for an extremely affordable reel that will do the job you can’t go past the Centron. For 4” swimbaits you don’t need anything bigger than the 4000 models.
