Napa River 2025 Season – Striped Bass Roundup
This is the first post for the newly redesigned website. Even though we’ve been in business since 2017 I’ll have to start this new report page from scratch, so here goes… The last few years have just been getting better and better with more and more quality Stripers being caught. Typically by casting lures to the fish on light spinning tackle in shallow water.
Saltwater fly fishing was pretty good too but generally speaking we need better water clarity and calmer days to be really successful using that method. By comparison I caught some whopper Stripers in muddy water on very windy days casting big swimbaits.
Last year once again had some epic catches (there were hundreds of Striped Bass caught on my boat) so I’ll just post a few of them. One pair of lucky (and very experienced) anglers managed thirty fish on saltwater fly gear and one of them was a beauty.
Personally my 2025 Striper season finished in January 2026 as I kept fishing (successfully) right through into the beginning of the New Year in some pretty nasty weather.

They’ve all caught a lot of fish with me over the years and last year was no exception. Serious anglers who go hard at it all day and after so many trips we now work naturally together as a cohesive unit.
This nice Striper took a swimbait cast on light tackle casting in very shallow water at low tide just before sunrise. Needless to say it put a very good fight and was carefully handled and then released immediately after the photograph.

There were literally hundreds of quality Stripers caught last year but to get this new fishing report feature going I’ll just leave it at this. I’ve got lots of other projects to get started on AND I want to get out there and track down where the big Stripers are hanging out so I can put my valued customers on to them.
