When I’m not taking people out on guided fishing charters or scenic wetlands cruises or working around our property I’m usually only doing one other thing.
It’s imperative to stay connected to the river when it’s your livelihood. You need to know what’s going on so you can provide the best service to your customers. Regardless of the above I’d do it anyway as I love it so much.
Last Monday was a wild and blustery day and the winds didn’t settle down at all. They actually intensified after sunset. But I desperately wanted to fish after taking others out recently with good results.
So I went out in the wild weather with a ripping current and got lucky.
Late that night I heard big Stripers chasing bait with loud tail slapping and massive surface strikes – a sound I absolutely love.
I only caught the one before the conditions became unfishable but it was a good one.
