Napa River & Wetlands Birdwatching

The American White Pelican is probably my favorite bird to watch in the Napa-Sonoma Marshes.

On hot days they can be seen effortlessly circling, high above the wetlands in thermoclines.

On windy days like this they congregate way out on levee breaks in the reclaimed salt ponds.

Did you know that the American White Pelican has the second largest wingspan of any bird on the North American continent? First place in that category goes to the California Condor!

Come and join us on a Napa River cruise or a scenic wetlands tour, escape the crowds, take in the wonderful sights, many different species of birds and breathe in the fresh air.

We depart from Cuttings Wharf Public Boat Launch just 15 minutes south of busy downtown Napa.

Private tours are available most days of the year Contact Us
