Joel and his 12 year old son Benji joined me on a half-day, guided Striped Bass fishing charter on the Napa River. And what an amazing morning it was! Flat, glass like conditions allowed us to fish some of my preferred spots during this particular tide. When I found them I noticed a couple of swirls up ahead and then I could see a few cruising the shallows. Extreme stealth and covert tactics allowed us to catch a couple of decent ones and a number of shakers before we had to call it a day and head back to the dock.
As we headed back out into the river we crossed over a distinct line wind whipped water and cold air that was originating from the southwest. Perfect timing!
